Terms of Use

1. Acceptance of these Terms

These Terms of Use ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and StatNation ("StatNation," "we," "us," or "our") governing your access to and use of the StatNation mobile application for iPad, related websites (including https://statnation.app), APIs, and associated services (collectively, the "Service").

By creating an account, downloading or using the Service, or clicking to accept these Terms, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy at https://statnation.app/privacy (the "Privacy Policy"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

If you use the Service on behalf of a team, school, club, league, or other organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization, and "you" includes that organization.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years of age to create a StatNation account. If you are between 13 and the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you may use the Service only with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to these Terms on your behalf.

The Service is designed primarily for coaches, parents, players, and team administrators. You are responsible for ensuring your use complies with applicable league, school, and organizational rules.

3. The Service

StatNation is a basketball statistics and team management platform. The Service helps authorized users record game statistics, manage rosters and schedules, view performance insights, and share results with people they authorize.

Features may differ between Free and Pro tiers and by team role. We may add, change, suspend, or discontinue features at any time. We do not guarantee that any particular feature will remain available indefinitely.

Statistics, insights, and AI-assisted summaries are for informational purposes only and are not medical, training, coaching, recruiting, or professional advice.

4. Accounts and team roles

You must provide accurate registration information and keep your login credentials confidential. Authentication may be provided through our identity partner (Clerk) and sign-in options such as Apple, Google, or email. You are responsible for activity under your account.

Each team uses role-based access, which may include Owner, Head Coach, Assistant Coach/Manager, Parent (edit or view-only), and Player. The team Owner controls membership, permissions, and the Pro unlock for that team. Parent access is never automatic; an Owner or Head Coach must grant it. View-only roles cannot change team settings or manage other users.

You must not share accounts. Notify us promptly at coach@statnation.app if you suspect unauthorized access.

5. License to use the app

Subject to these Terms, StatNation grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download and use the StatNation application on Apple-branded devices that you own or control, solely as permitted by the App Store usage rules and these Terms.

You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, reverse engineer, or create derivative works of the Service except to the extent such restrictions are prohibited by law. All rights not expressly granted are reserved by StatNation and its licensors.

6. Your content and team data

You retain ownership of information and content you submit to the Service ("User Content"), including roster data, game events, statistics, notes, photos, and share exports you create.

You grant StatNation a worldwide, non-exclusive license to host, process, transmit, display, and otherwise use User Content solely as needed to operate, secure, improve, and provide the Service to you and your authorized team members, and as otherwise described in the Privacy Policy.

If you submit information about another person (including a youth athlete), you represent that you have any consent or authority required by law to do so and to permit StatNation to process that information as described in these Terms and the Privacy Policy.

We preserve historical game and season records so teams can retain accurate history. A Pro unlock does not erase past records. Leaving a team does not delete that team’s history. Team contributions associated with a deleted account may be retained in de-personalized form so historical records remain intact.

7. Purchases, Pro unlocks, and billing

StatNation Pro is offered as a one-time unlock associated with a team (not an auto-renewing subscription and not an account-wide entitlement by default). One team Owner purchases Pro; members they authorize on that team may use Pro features for that team only. Current pricing may include a single-team unlock and a multi-team “Pro Unlimited” option, as shown in the App Store or checkout at the time of purchase, and is subject to change.

Each team season is treated as a separate team for unlock purposes. Creating a new season with the same roster may require a new unlock.

Purchases made through the Apple App Store are processed by Apple. Apple’s terms and refund policies apply to those transactions. Purchases may also be processed through Stripe where offered. Entitlement state may be managed with RevenueCat and confirmed on StatNation servers. Restoring purchases re-grants entitlements recognized by our servers. If a team already has an active Pro Owner, additional purchase attempts for that team may be blocked.

Except where required by law or by Apple’s or Stripe’s policies, fees are non-refundable once the unlock has been delivered.

8. Sharing and exports

The Share Hub and related features let you export or share statistics using approved templates. Availability of templates may depend on Free or Pro status. Shared outputs may include StatNation branding and a link to the Service.

You are solely responsible for obtaining any required consent before sharing a minor’s information and for complying with league, school, or organizational rules when distributing stats or media.

9. Acceptable use

You agree not to: (a) violate any law or third-party right; (b) attempt unauthorized access to the Service or other users’ data; (c) interfere with or disrupt the Service; (d) scrape, harvest, or reverse engineer the Service except as permitted by law; (e) upload malware or harmful code; (f) harass, abuse, or harm others; (g) use the Service to provide competing sports-stats products using StatNation data without our prior written consent; or (h) misrepresent your identity or role on a team.

We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these Terms or to protect the Service, users, or third parties.

10. Intellectual property

The Service, including software, design, trademarks, logos, and documentation, is owned by StatNation or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. “StatNation” and related marks are trademarks of StatNation. These Terms do not grant you any right to use our marks except as needed to identify your authorized use of the Service.

11. Third-party services

The Service may integrate third-party services (for example, authentication, analytics, crash reporting, push notifications, cloud storage, payments, and AI providers). Your use of those services may be subject to their own terms and privacy policies. StatNation is not responsible for third-party services we do not control.

12. Account deletion and termination

You may request deletion of your account through the in-app account settings or by contacting coach@statnation.app. Personal account data will be removed or anonymized as described in the Privacy Policy. Team statistical history may remain in de-personalized form.

We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the Service. Upon termination, your license to use the Service ends. Provisions that by their nature should survive (including ownership, disclaimers, limitations of liability, and governing law) will survive.

13. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. STATNATION DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE, OR THAT STATISTICS OR INSIGHTS WILL BE ACCURATE OR COMPLETE.

SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW CERTAIN DISCLAIMERS. IN THOSE JURISDICTIONS, OUR WARRANTIES ARE LIMITED TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.

14. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, STATNATION AND ITS AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, REVENUE, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

OUR AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID TO STATNATION FOR THE SERVICE IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR (B) ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (US $100).

SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW CERTAIN LIMITATIONS. IN THOSE JURISDICTIONS, OUR LIABILITY IS LIMITED TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.

15. Indemnification

You will defend, indemnify, and hold harmless StatNation and its affiliates from and against any claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or related to your User Content, your use of the Service, your sharing of minors’ information, or your breach of these Terms.

16. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, excluding conflict-of-law rules, except that (a) if Apple’s App Store terms require otherwise for App Store purchases, those terms control for that purchase, and (b) consumers in jurisdictions that prohibit choosing California law may retain mandatory local protections.

Except where prohibited, you and StatNation agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in California for disputes arising out of these Terms, subject to any mandatory consumer venue rules that apply to you.

17. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will change when we do. For material changes, we will provide additional notice in the app or by email where appropriate. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. The current Terms are published at https://statnation.app/terms.

18. Apple App Store terms

If you downloaded the app from the Apple App Store, you acknowledge that these Terms are between you and StatNation only, not with Apple. StatNation—not Apple—is solely responsible for the app and its content. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no warranty obligation with respect to the app; any claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, or expenses attributable to any failure to conform to any warranty are StatNation’s responsibility.

StatNation—not Apple—is responsible for addressing any claims by you or a third party relating to the app or your possession and/or use of the app, including product liability claims, claims that the app fails to conform to legal or regulatory requirements, and claims arising under consumer protection, privacy, or similar legislation. In the event of any third-party claim that the app or your possession and use of the app infringes that third party’s intellectual property rights, StatNation—not Apple—will be solely responsible for the investigation, defense, settlement, and discharge of that claim to the extent required by these Terms.

You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. government embargo or designated as a “terrorist supporting” country, and that you are not listed on any U.S. government list of prohibited or restricted parties. Apple and Apple’s subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
