Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 4, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how StatNation collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information for coaches, parents, players, and other authorized team members.
1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how StatNation ("StatNation," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal information when you use the StatNation iPad application, https://statnation.app, and related services (collectively, the "Service").
It applies to coaches, parents, players, and other authorized team members. By using the Service, you acknowledge this Policy. Our Terms of Use at https://statnation.app/terms govern use of the Service and incorporate this Policy by reference.
If you provide information about another person (including a youth athlete), you represent that you have authority or consent to do so.
2. Personal information we collect
Account information: name, email address, optional phone number, user type (coach, parent, player), profile photo, and authentication identifiers from our identity partner (Clerk), which may include identifiers associated with Sign in with Apple or Google.
Team and performance data: rosters, schedules, game events, statistics, notes, sharing preferences, role assignments, and other content you or team administrators enter about teams and players ("Team Data").
Purchase and entitlement data: purchase status, product identifiers, and entitlement information from Apple, Stripe, and/or RevenueCat. We do not store full payment card numbers.
Communications: messages you send through Settings → Support or to coach@statnation.app, and related metadata needed to respond.
Device and usage data: device type, operating system, app version, diagnostic and crash logs, push notification tokens, IP address (as received by our servers), and analytics events used to operate, secure, and improve the Service. This may include data processed by Firebase Analytics, Firebase Crashlytics, and Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM).
AI feature inputs: if you use Pro features such as game or season recaps, relevant Team Data you already stored in StatNation may be sent to OpenAI solely to generate the summaries you request.
3. How we collect information
We collect information: (a) directly from you when you register, update your profile, enter Team Data, purchase Pro, contact support, or share content; (b) from other authorized team members who invite you or enter roster/game data that includes you; (c) automatically through the app and our servers (device, diagnostics, and usage data); and (d) from service providers that help us authenticate, bill, host, analyze, message, or generate AI summaries.
4. How we use information
We use personal information to: provide, maintain, and secure the Service; authenticate users and enforce role-based access; process purchases and restore entitlements; generate statistics, exports, and AI-assisted recaps you request; send transactional messages and push notifications related to the Service; provide customer support; monitor performance, diagnose crashes, and improve features; detect fraud, abuse, and security incidents; and comply with law and enforce our Terms.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are commonly defined under U.S. state privacy laws.
5. How we share information
With your team: Team Data is visible to other members according to roles and permissions set by the team Owner or coaches.
With service providers that process data on our behalf: Clerk (authentication); cloud hosting providers; RevenueCat, Apple, and/or Stripe (billing and entitlements); Resend (transactional email); Cloudflare R2 (media storage); Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics, and Cloud Messaging; and OpenAI (AI recaps you request). These providers are authorized to process data only to perform services for us and are expected to protect it appropriately.
When you share externally: if you use Share Hub or similar features, recipients outside StatNation receive the content you choose to share.
For legal and safety reasons: we may disclose information if required by law, legal process, or governmental request, or to protect the rights, safety, and integrity of users, the public, or the Service.
Business transfers: if we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to appropriate confidentiality protections.
6. Children’s privacy
StatNation accounts are not offered to children under 13. We do not knowingly allow children under 13 to create accounts.
The Service may process information about youth athletes when entered by authorized coaches, parents, or guardians (for example, roster names, jersey numbers, and game statistics). Team administrators and parents are responsible for obtaining any consent required before adding minors to a roster or sharing their statistics.
If you believe we have collected personal information from a child under 13 without appropriate consent, contact coach@statnation.app and we will take steps to delete it as required.
7. Data retention
We retain account and Team Data while your account is active and as needed to provide the Service, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and meet legal obligations.
We preserve historical game and season records so teams can retain accurate history. Pro unlock status does not delete past team history.
When you delete your account, we remove or anonymize personal identifiers associated with your account. Team statistical contributions may remain in de-personalized form so teams retain accurate records.
8. Security
We use industry-standard safeguards, including encrypted transport (HTTPS/TLS), authenticated APIs, and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. Please use a strong password, protect your device, and notify us of suspected unauthorized access.
9. Your choices and rights
You can update certain profile fields in Settings → My Account, manage team access through your Owner or coach, and control sharing of content you export.
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information by using in-app account deletion (where available), Settings → Support, or emailing coach@statnation.app. We may need to verify your request before acting on it.
Depending on where you live (for example, under California or other U.S. state privacy laws), you may have rights to know, access, correct, delete, or obtain a portable copy of certain personal information, and to appeal a denied request. We will not discriminate against you for exercising privacy rights.
Push notifications can be disabled in iPadOS Settings. Analytics and crash reporting may continue at a limited technical level needed to operate and secure the Service.
10. International users
StatNation is operated from the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, your information may be processed in the U.S. or other countries where our providers operate, which may have different data-protection laws than your jurisdiction.
11. App Store privacy disclosures
Apple requires us to provide App Privacy details (“nutrition labels”) in App Store Connect. Those labels summarize categories of data that may be collected. This Privacy Policy provides the fuller description of our practices. If there is any conflict between marketing copy and this Policy, this Policy controls regarding privacy practices.
12. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised version at https://statnation.app/privacy and in the app, and update the “Last updated” date. Material changes may also be communicated by email or in-app notice. Continued use of the Service after the effective date means you acknowledge the updated Policy.
13. Contact us
